Tiny Giants; Plant it Forward Returns with a Goal of 6,000 Trees

In 2015, Four Seasons Tree Care (FSTC) partnered with the National Forest Foundation to restore 5,000 trees to our National Forests.  After seemingly endless news stories about the devastation the combined forces of drought, bark beetle and wildfire were wreaking on California’s once vibrant pine tree population, we launched the Plant it Forward campaign.  By pledging trees for every job we performed during the campaign, we included our clients in our mission to restore as many of these trees as possible.  The successful end of that first campaign in March 2017 only made us more dedicated to the cause.

Now in the second year of the Plant it Forward campaign we want to Plant It Further! with a goal of 6,000 trees, and our clients will have an even bigger part to play.  From April 2017 to March 2018, our clients will become tree champions as they partner with us on jobs of:

Less than $1,000 = 1 tree
$1,000 – $4,999 = 5 trees
$5,000 – $9,999 = 10 trees
$10,000 – $14,999 = 15 trees

…and so on.

We will update our total progress every week on our Plant it Forward page.  Check back often to see how we’re doing!

The California drought is over for the moment but we’ll be living with the consequences for years to come.  The biggest danger right now is wildfire in areas where large numbers of trees have been killed by the bark beetle.  The cost to cut down the millions of dead trees in the Sierras is prohibitively high for the U.S. Forest Service and when the inevitable wildfires strike there won’t be enough funding to restore the trees, both living and dead, that are lost.

We know our efforts won’t solve the crisis we’re facing, but it’s a start and we hope our example will inspire other individuals and companies to do what they can to restore and protect our invaluable National Forests.
